Intelligence was perceived as an ability solve problems. Most human problems appeared to have reasoned, instead mathematics, solutions. The diagnosis of a disease could hardly be calculated. If a patient had a group of symptoms, and then she had a particular disease. But such reasoning required prior knowledge. The programs needed for the " " knowledge of the disease showed a group of symptoms. For the AI community, vague knowledge that resides in the minds of " Experts " was superior to text book knowledge. But they called the programs, they solve these problems, Expert Systems.
Expert Systems managed goal oriented tasks to solve problems, including diagnosis, planning, programming, configuration and design. One method of knowledge through representation was " If, then ... " rules. When the " If " part of a rule was satisfied, then the " After " of state was completed. These became rule based Expert Systems. But it was sometimes factual knowledge and in other times, vague. Factual knowledge had clear cause to effect relationships, where clear conclusions could be drawn from concrete rules. The pain was a symptom of a disease. If the disease always exhibited pain, pain, then drew attention to the disease. But vague knowledge and judgement was called heuristic knowledge. It was more of an art. The symptom pain could not mechanically point of disease, which occasionally exhibited pain. The uncertainty did not yield concrete answers.
The AI community tried to solve this problem, suggesting a statistical, or heuristics of uncertainty. The possibilities were represented by real numbers or sets of real-valued vectors. The vectors were evaluated by different " " fuzzy concepts. The components of the measurements were listed, giving the basis of numerical values. Variations were combined, using methods of computing combination of variances. The combined uncertainty and its components were cast in the form of " standard deviations. " Uncertainty was given a mathematical expression, which was hardly useful in diagnosis of a disease.
The human mind does not compute the mathematical relationships to assess the uncertainty. The mind knew that a particular symptom pointed to a possibility, since it used intuition, a process of elimination to identify patterns instantly. Vago information was powerfully useful to eliminate a process, since it eliminated many other possibilities. If the patient lacked pain, all diseases, which always exhibited pain, could be eliminated. Diseases that sometimes exhibited pain were retained. Other helped identify symptoms of a very low base. The selection was easier from a smaller group. Uncertainty may be useful for removing a powerful process.
Intuition was an algorithm, which evaluated the entire database, eliminating any context that does not fit. This algorithm has powered Expert Systems, which has acted quickly to recognize a disease, identify a case law or diagnose the problems of a complex machine. It was instant, holistic, and logical. If several parallel answers could be presented as the various parameters of a power plant, recognition was instantaneous. For the mind, where millions of parameters were presented simultaneously, in real time pattern recognition was practical. And elimination was the key, that could handle uncertainty conclusively, without recourse to abstruse calculations.

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; 39; CCNA and deserve this important certification Cisco? Summary route is only one of many skills to master to earn your CCNA. Qu & 39; it & 39; act version 2 RIP, OSPF or EIGRP, CCNA examination requires that you configure properly Route summary.
Route summary is not only important for & 39; consideration of NACC. It s & 39; d & 39; is a valuable ability to have & 39; in the real world as well. In short course can lead to smaller routing tables that are still able to route packages - what I love & 39; as & quot; accurate and complete & quot; tables routing.
The first to & 39; have to work with abstract route binary math, specifically, you should be able to several lines and both come with a summary of road and mask the promotion of downstream routers. Faced with networks 100.16.0.0 / 16, 100.17.0.0 / 16, 100.18.0.0 / 16, and 100.19.0.0 / 16, could you quickly to the conclusion of & 39; address and mask? All you have to do is break the four numbers in the network of channels binaries. We know that the last two years, all bytes to convert the binary string 00000000, as well as in this article we will show that, as to convert the first and second octet decimal to binary.
100 16 = 01100100 00010000
100 17 = 01100100 00010001
100 18 = 01100100 00010010
100 19 = 01100100 00010011
To with the conclusion of range, only work from left to right and draw a line, where the four networks, nor that & 39; a little. For these four networks, from this point, between 14 and 15 bits. It allows us with this channel: 01100100 000100xx. All you have to do c & 39; is that the chain of a new convert to decimal, which gives us 100 for the first octet and 16 for the second. (The two values are x-bit on the right side of the line are not used for calculating the conclusion of road.) Since we know that zero is the value for the last two bytes, the resulting number Abstract Network is 100.16.0.0.
But we do not! We have now, with the summary mask to communicate with the conclusion of road. To access the & 39; route summary, you write in a mask with a binary & quot; 1 & quot; for everything on the left side of the line we had previously, and a & amp; quot; 0 & quot; for everything on the right. This gives us the following string:
11111111 11111100 00000000 00000000
Converting dotted decimal that we arrive at the conclusion of mask 255.252.0.0. The good synthesis and netmask to communicate are 100.16.0.0 252.0.0.0.
For l & 39; consideration CCNA l & 39; emphasis is on knowledge, such as the promotion of these lines in short RIPv2 and EIGRP. For these two protocols, route densification position to & 39; interface is the level - it & 39; is not configured under the protocol. On the & 39; interface should provide the summary line, use the command & quot; IP address Abstract & quot;. Here are some examples, as summarized above would be configured Ethernet0 trail in both RIPv2 and EIGRP.
R1 (config-if) ip summary
R1 Rip-address 100.16.0.0 255.252.0.0 (config-if) & 39; Summary of the IP address eigrp 100 100.16.0.0 255.252.0.0
The main difference between the two is that the command must EIGRP number of & 39; AS - c & 39; is what & quot; 100 & quot; is at the heart of the order EIGRP. Since RIPv2 n & 39; uses no figures, it & 39; is no value added in the configuration.
For OSPF, orders. If the configuration inter-densification of & 39; environment Route position, use the field & quot; rich & quot; order if you compilation distances, which is currently divided into OSPF, you can use the abstract address under the command of OSPF routing process on & 39; ASBR. No d & 39; them are at the interface & 39; orders.
I speaks of & 39; experience, if I tell you that & 39; exercise is the master of the & 39; consideration CCNA, especially with binaries and settling the position of questions. The bulk of these questions is that it & 39; n & 39; are no areas d & 39; shadow of these issues - you know, how it works or not. And with a little & 39; exercise and an eye for detail, you can master these skills, & 39; examination and become a CCNA. It is a success!

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; Its customers rely on your computer consulting firm point them in the direction of technology solutions that are cost-effective and reliable. They also depend on you to help them avoid bad products and support services ineffective IT.

It expenses: Newer does not mean better

Just was released because a technology not only means that it is a smart for the purchase of a company. If the customers buy & 39; s PC with processors that have just been released or new motherboards, graphics accelerators and chipsets that they can get surprises in the future, since these products have not often been tested for long term .

It expenses: you are responsible

Clients not appreciate unreliable PCs and hardware, and many as you will realise the computer specialist consultant responsible for all problems. And customers with a lot of hardware problems can be a threat to their business. If you are extremely careful to recommend new technologies with little information that will protect both their customers " budgets and of itself.

It expenses: Protect your customers from risks of early adoption

Because there is so much pressure for PC companies to create new technologies very quickly, many products are rushed to market before they are ready. In early 2001, the E.U. PC market fell 3.5 percent and marked the beginning of an industry contraction. Because the market is in such flux and as competitive, we should protect them to customers the adoption of technologies, before being refined.

It expenses: Product Development takes time

For the past ten years, the PC owners and small businesses had to think about spending in the device driver software, hardware and firmware that are constantly updated and reconfigured.

The problem with these developments is that customers have to suffer with unreliable hardware products while they are being improved because most PC companies make them part of the testing process instead give them the finished products. Because it is your job to help customers find their IT expenditure, which aims to protect them from being an expensive science experiment.

Copyright MMI-MMVII, Computer Consulting 101 Blog. 39; higher than a year ago, and probably no longer rising and people l & 39; roadmap than ever before, it is easy to see why online shopping is more and more popular. The virtual shopping malls, or online via the shopping centres, offer the same products, you will find in the store, and in some cases even more than the same business to transport. If they are sold out, you can place your order and ship it when it comes, or you go to & 39; other business and see if they & 39;. & 39, N You& 39;re not losing time and gas to the leadership of memory to store or to a second trip back to only & 39; have not sold or again.
There are just some of the issues that prevent people from online shopping, such as & 39; age / generation. Some older people are not only confidence in, which is understandable. Another problem is security. He is concerned about a credit card stolen, you will find in the Internet is theft risk d & 39; identity. C & 39, a concern is very sensible, but have to do, shopping in the shops is not possible & 39; eliminate this risk, it is even d & 39; May, increase the risk. If the credit card business, it is still at the bank in the same way. Not only that, but you have the box, your numbers & 39, a copy of the receipt. It is usually a person in the coffers of the & 39; cash and revenue, and that is another issue.
Another reason not shop online is the opportunity cost of shipping & 39;. Although most dealers offer delivery on some points, if not the entire & 39, is the cost of shipping & 39, are not unlike gas, that money by & 39 ; Licence for yourself, it does not seem to May, because you are in your car gas, but somehow to think how to May, when you need, go & 39; s important, how far for all Focus.
There are still people there who are trying to & 39 d l & 39; saves money, and they think that & 39; can prepare them better for their own account. You know the kind of person I am, the person will be the engines of 10 miles of their way to the station d & 39; gasoline cheaper than a $ .02 per gallon. & 39; What is it that no one were not aware of that when he accused d & 39; shipping for an online purchase, will allow l & 39 , No sales tax, as most retailers are not the fee for online sales.
I am firmly convinced that your time is precious. If you ausgibst, 4 hours, commuting between the time and the time for shopping, shopping and you have won everything, what it in 2 hours on the & 39; Internet, in the comfort of your home, you& 39;ll better online. You also have the opportunity & 39; a better price, because online & 39, there are 100 shops at the click of a button & 39; dd & 39; Waiting time for your marketing. In the shopping center, you will get one or two stores sell the same product for your opportunities are limited. If someone really wants a & 39; data to steal credit card, you will find a way to do what you fly, breaking into your house, your e-fly in the mailbox, and in business. Do not accept that the reason you go to the store.
The next time you have to do, shopping, and & 39; n You have never tried the Internet, give it a shot. I think you convert when you see how easy it is.

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; Spy-ware is a program that is set up in your PC and it trails whatever you do, at any time you are online surfing the Internet. It then transmits info back to the starting place and displays to you banner advertisements, which are derived from what websites you surf. The majority of spy-ware is packaged in software that is free of charge, which you download from the Internet. You will be able to tell whether the software which you have has got spy-ware or not, since you will observe a banner ad in the web browser, which is not usually there, or else you will come across pop-ups presenting you services or products at any time you surf.
Spy-ware can fill up the computer s memory and then force your computer to operate slower, and at last, will make the computer freeze. Hence to do away with spy-ware you need to locate it in your PC. A software that can assist you with this difficulty is Ad-ware. Perform a search for this software on www.Google.com and you ought to come across a website from where you can download it.
Run this software and observe what it comes across. Then start the computer once again and run the software once more and observe if it locates any extra spy-ware. If it finds a spy-ware yet again, then perform a search online on www.Google.com for Spybot Search and Destroy . Perform the identical steps and observe if you again have spy-ware. If you have it, then restart your PC in safe mode then start both the software once more. This time the PC will go through all the files and ought to locate other spy-wares, which could not be located previously.
After the software finishes running, reboot your PC, run them all over again, and then go online and look for up to date versions for the software. If up to date versions are obtainable, download them and re-run the software to find out and delete any latest spy-ware.
If you would like to do away with spy-ware and prevent it from coming back to your PC, you ought to purchase a spy-ware program CD from a computer store. After you have this you will be allowed to enroll to the facility that will give you up to date information. If the program deduces that a spy-ware is in the PC, it will make you aware and will delete the impostor.
You ought to make use of any of these techniques to locate and delete spy-ware since it will make your PC operate in an incorrect manner. In case you would not prefer to make use of one of these software and would not want to download programs from the Internet, then you ought to inform anybody else who utilizes your PC not to do the same thing also.

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; The next great development in broadcast television shown on the Internet is being played out in Vancouver, British Columbia, where this techno-revolution in viewing is made possible because streaming video is now so advanced and audience-friendly that hundreds of channels of TV content are about to come to viewers right on their PCs!
Sitting in the middle of a complex array of computer equipment is Ed Clunn, who is Chief Technology Officer of eBahn (www.eBahn.tv), and he is in the last throes of moving his company s data center to Los Angeles. Although you wouldn t mistake Clunn for Mark Cuban, the founder of Broadcast.com and HDNet, Clunn s launching of eBahn, which will be the first true Internet television network, may very well be taking the same types of steps Cuban did with his 2 networks.
"Our vision has been to bring hundreds of channels of real television content to viewer s computer screens in the quality that they have grown to expect," stated Clunn. "The success of Broadcast.com and Mark Cuban inspired me to take the technical steps necessary to really deliver TV content over the Internet."
Cuban is a good example of how a simple concept can grow into a multi-billion dollar opportunity. In the early days of streaming, Cuban and Todd Wagner, who were big sports fans, founded a company called AudioNet, initially to provide out-of-market coverage for college basketball games. AudioNet eventually grew into Broadcast.com, which was purchased by Yahoo! in 1999. (Cuban is now the owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team.) When Yahoo bought Broadcast.com for $5.04 billion, Cuban s simple idea was definitely validated.
There certainly were naysayers to Cuban s concept just as there are critics today who are skeptical about Clunn s own vision. The advancements of streaming media changed those sentiments in Broadcast.com s case though. Streaming media, a method for transmitting multimedia files so that playback occurs upon arrival of the first data packets, was and will continue to be one of the key drivers behind Internet growth for years to come, according to a report by U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray (www.piperjaffray.com).
In an industry report released in 2000 on the future of streaming media, Gene Munster, senior technology research analyst for U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, said that streaming media will be the next "macro-growth driver" on the Internet.
"We expect significant growth drivers in the streaming media sector, including the availability of broadband, simplified ease of use, the availability of content, and the convergence of the TV and the PC," Munster said. "We believe the Internet of tomorrow (two to five years from now) will resemble the television of today in terms of audio and video quality, while enabling users to control the media viewing experience." His predictions were clearly borne out.
Clunn believes with the continued acceptance of streaming technology, and the rapid growth of video stream usage, that the public at large will now be turning to their computer screens more and more for entertainment content. "The dramatic rise in streaming video usage is the signal to me that Internet TV will be accepted broadly in the next two years," Clunn confidently stated. "The companies that get in front of this trend now will be the big winners. I don t intend to be the next Johnny come lately ."
The rise of video streams is actually staggering when one views the numbers of individual video plays on a year-to-year basis. Video streams increased 80.7 percent in 2004, for a total of 14.2 billion streams, according to AccuStream iMedia Research (www.accustreamresearch.com).
"Growth was really strong in the number of [both] audio and video streams in 2004, outpacing even our own optimistic forecasts in the past," stated Paul Palumbo, research director of AccuStream, a media research firm. "I remember a few years ago when we had 3.5 billion video streams, thinking that was a really big number. Now, we re already four times that."
Robust growth continued in 2005, with a total of 21 billion streams (up 48 percent year-to-year) forecast for 2005. By 2007, the annual volume of video streams is projected to exceed 35 billion.
Just fifteen years ago, the thought of delivering hundreds of channels of television content over the Internet anytime in the near future was not taken seriously by many. The reason was simple: The only Internet users at that time were using dial-up connections which would bottleneck the stream of data necessary for true broadcast quality video. Those times have changed completely with the advent of various broadband technologies.
Broadband penetration rates have now made it possible for an Internet TV network to arrive on the scene. The number of U.S. at-home broadband users now accounts for 55 percent of the total U.S. at-home users as of December 2004, according to data from Nielsen/NetRatings. If this robust adoption rate continues, almost 70 percent of all U.S. home users will have broadband connections by the first half of 2006, according to forecasts based on Nielsen.
Even though broadband and streaming media technology are available, this doesn t mean the success is assured for a true Internet TV Network. Entertainment usage habits of the general consumer have to adjust and change in concert with both of these technology developments. This is now being played out as men and women continue to use computers more and more, and not just for work!
In a typical week, men spend 10.2 hours on a PC, 6.7 hours of which are spent on the Internet. Women spend a total of 8.5 hours using a computer, 5.3 of those are online. Media consumption across all categories, except reading magazines, is higher among men by an average of seven hours per week according to a Forrester s Consumer Technographics report. On the Web, men tend to surf for news, magazines, finance, job and career information. They also visit discussion boards and comparison shop. Online activities for women skew more toward utility: they get movie information, play games, share photos, and use online phone directories.
Compare these numbers with TV consumption and one sees how close Internet usage is to overtaking traditional television viewing. Men are watching TV 13.6 hours a week while women are viewing television for 12.1 hours each week. Men are also watching movies on video or DVD an average of 3.7 hours a week, and women are watching 3.3 hours a week.
The number to really watch, says Clunn, is multi-channel viewing. "People are now watching TV and working on their computers at the same time," observed Clunn. "As this trend grows eBahn.tv will grow with it."
The number of minutes adults spend simultaneously surfing the Web and watching TV has increased a dramatic 72 percent, from an average of 174 minutes per week in 2001 to 300 minutes per week in 2004, according to the latest "Media in Mind" survey by Universal McCann.
The 2004 Web-TV figure accounts for 20 percent of total weekly TV-viewing time for the average U.S. adult aged 18-49. In 2001, only 11 percent of total TV-viewing time for that age group was accompanied by Web use. The percentage of adult TV-viewing time that is potentially distracted or enhanced by Internet use has almost doubled in three years.
There is one other reason an Internet TV network may not have succeeded in the past, and that is the lack of real content. "People want to see the same type of content they can see on regular TV if they are going to watch Internet TV," said Clunn. "In the first quarter of 2006, eBahn.tv will be delivering almost 200 channels of content, the type of programming you would view with any cable operator."
At the end of the day, every business model has to generate more income than it spends and the timing may be right once again for the Vancouver media company. Advertisers are now moving their promotional budgets towards the Internet in ever increasing numbers. Online sales have also mirrored the increase in advertising.
Online retailers saw a 24 percent increase in sales in 2004. Growth by the end of 2005 is projected to rise by another 22 percent.
The 2004 growth rate of 24 percent outpaces traditional retail growth, which saw an increase of only seven percent. Last year, online sales accounted for 6.5 percent of total retail sales, up from 5.4 percent in 2003. In 2005, online sales are expected to account for 7.7 percent of total retail sales according to Forrester. "On the demand side, we continue to see more new shoppers coming online," said Scott R. Silverman, executive director of Shop.org, "and the new shoppers that have been online continue to get more comfortable."
Online advertising revenue is expected to reach $16.5 billion by 2005 according to research released today by Jupiter Communications, Inc. Interestingly enough, sponsorships are most popular on TV broadcasters Web sites, such as CBSNews.com, BET.com, and FOXNews.com. "A significant number of sites owned by major media brands that experimented with streaming video advertising in 2000 and 2001, and then moved behind subscription services, reemerged as ad-supported content sites in 2004 and 2005," Palumbo added.
With all of these trends involving broadband penetration, Internet usage, streaming media viewing and multi-channel viewing on the rise, Clunn feels that it will be a very good year for eBahn.tv.
"We believe that the perfect storm has arrived for the birth of our Internet TV network", said Clunn. "When the network goes live in January, all of the proverbial cosmic tumblers will click into place for eBahn.tv and we ll be off to the races." These are optimistic sentiments but they seem to be rooted in pretty sound logic. Are we looking at the next Broadcast.com? Just check the Internet in a few weeks and we ll all see.

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; But while using the wireless notebook, you should be aware Wi-Fi standards, hotspots, as well as the effective use of this technology to make the best use of your notebook.

The 802.11g Wi-Fi standard is the last rule, which follows its notebook when you are online. The Wi-Fi alphabet spaghetti consists of protocols such as 802.11, 802.15, 802.16 and 802.20. However, for most notebook users with added 802.11 would be sufficient a & 39;, b or g .

There are protocols such as and , h , i and n that are waiting in the wings to make your application. However, from now on, 802.11g is the only protocol that it is necessary to think regarding wireless connectivity. The latest Wi-Fi is the standard 802.11ge offers connection speeds of up to 54 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz radio bands, which is five times more than the previous standard 802.11b. It is more stable, more secure and compatible behind.

Almost all notebooks that are manufactured today are standard 802.11g Wi-Fi ready. This standard is designed to replace the older Wired Equivalent Privacy or WEP, specifying the Wi-Fi Protected Access or WPA. The WPA will act as a temporary solution, until the next standard, 802.11i network security standard is implemented with a new algorithm called Temporal Key Integrity Protocol, which will be much more secure and reliable.

However until the new standard is implemented, the 802.11g is being followed. There are only two drawbacks of this notebook with Wi-Fi standard, which, firstly, because it is a new standard, it may not perform as promised, and second, with fast latest emerging technologies, which could become obsolete by new standards before you have the time to take advantage of it.

Few tips for a secure Wi-Fi experience:

1 - You must raise the level of your laptop configurations. Raise security settings of software applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer. Atualiz them frequently to ensure the protection of the latest hackers and viruses. You should always keep the feature on cryptography to ensure safe navigation with WiFi

2 - Along with the software, you should also consider upgrading better hardware. Hackers have always found 802.11ae 802.11b very easy to cut. However, 802.11g, it is more difficult to crack and you should consider upgrading your hardware for a g card. 802.11g is backward compatible with IEEE 802.11b, 802.11g can leverage the widespread, international adoption of IEEE 802.11b in products from laptops to PDA A personal firewall such as ZoneAlarm or significantly BlackICE can add up to the level of safety of your notebook.

3 - When you are using your notebook on a Wi-Fi hotspot, make it a point not to send data. While you are browsing, not enter your credit card number, expiration date, passwords, bank account numbers, etc. Sensitive data are goldmines for hackers, and they will smear your bank account before you can finish saying, & quot; I have been a victim of identity theft online!

4 - Consider not be online while working. If the risks outweigh the benefits, then it would be better to remain offline, at least until the new 802.11i standard is not implemented. Still, the security can be breached, albeit with difficulties. If you do not need Wi-Fi to implement its work, and then get off. If you need the Wi-Fi only to send and receive files, then be connected only to that period. Rest of the time, remain offline.

Precautions to lead to a public Wi-Fi hotspot:

Whenever you are in the public domain, it is necessary to take precautions because it is free for all. Wi-Fi hotspots are available for each and every person, and nobody can be connected. Besides online theft, there is also the risk of theft offline.

While in a public hotspot, is not so absorbed with your notebook, you fail to notice the people around you. There are people who are in the business of stealing notebooks, from public hotspots. And they do not work as individuals but as a gang.

Also while you are online in a public hotspot, follow simple rules to encrypt files before transfer or sending them, making sure that it is connected to an access point legitimate, and file sharing is turned off. Basic precautions such as password protect your notebook, updating your system periodically, and using antivirus software must be strictly followed. For more online security, consider using a personal firewall, a virtual private network (VPN), and email with secure http (https).

Having a good Wi-Fi experience directly translates into a rewarding experience Internet. With the above suggestions are implemented, you are guaranteed to have a pleasant time online with your notebook. desire douglass

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; Documents scanned by fax machines in Standard Resolution are sampled with 204 horizontal dots per inch and 98 vertical dots per inch. Each sample point is then converted to either a white or black value (a process known as binarization). The binarization process converts straight lines of the bar code symbols into ragged lines changing the width of the bars and spaces. If a faxed document is itself resent out as a fax, further deterioration occurs. Each additional fax cycle continues to degrade the bar code. At some point, the symbol may no longer be able to be decoded by bar code decoding software.

The remainder of this article will discuss the issues that should be considered when selecting bar code symbologies and sizes to increase the likelihood of successful decodes after multiple fax cycles.

Linear (1D) Symbologies

Two popular 1D symbologies were examined: Code 128 and Code 39. Code 128 uses four bar and space widths to encode information, while Code 39 only uses two. Thirteen module sizes (smallest element) ranging from 12.5 mil to 32.5 mil of each symbol type, encoding ten numeric digits, were printed on a sheet. The sheet was sent through a fax at Standard Resolution for a total of ten cycles. This corresponds to a horizontal sample per module ranging from 2.6 to 6.6. The resulting 11 pages were then scanned on a flatbed scanner at 300 samples per inch and were presented to a bar code decode software toolkit. At 2.6 samples per module both bar code symbologies were only able to be successfully decoded for 3 faxes while the same codes with 6.6 samples per module were still readable after 10 faxes.

The larger samples per module (6 samples and greater) were able to successfully decode after 10 fax cycles. At 5.6 samples per module, the decode performance was no better than 4.6 pixels per module. This demonstrates that each fax cycle alters the bar code in a subtle way. Every fax cycle produces a unique version of the original bar code, and each alteration can make a symbol that did not read after a certain number of fax cycles read on the next one. However, if high read rates are desired after many fax cycles, then printing the bar code symbols at a minimum of 6 samples per module is recommended.

>From the testing conducted, Code 128 slightly outperformed Code 39 after multiple faxes. Given the higher data density of Code 128 and the built in checksum, Code 128 appears to be a better choice between the two symbologies. The images below show the size advantage of Code 128 over Code 39, with both symbols encoding 10 numeric digits with the same module size. If the data to be encoded is purely numeric, the numeric compaction mode of Code 128 can be used to further increase data density.

There is a trade off to consider: the larger the module size of a linear code, the more horizontal room will be required to encode the same amount of information, but the larger modules sizes can improve read rate. One additional factor to consider is the bar code height. For this test, all the codes were inch in height. Given that all vertical information in 1D bar codes is by definition redundant, if space allows, increasing the height of a bar code will typically provide better read rates after multiple fax cycles.

Matrix (2D) Symbologies

Matrix symbologies provide dramatically better information density because information is encoded in both horizontal and vertical directions. Given their size advantage over their linear counterparts, 2D symbols can be printed with much larger module sizes and still be comparable to linear symbols encoding the same information. For the 2D test, we printed various sizes of Data Matrix and Micro QR Codes. The Data Matrix was a 12 x 12 module square symbol. The Micro QR is a more space efficient version of a QR code that employs only one finder pattern and is limited to a number of smaller sizes. The symbols were encoded at a comparable level of error correction. The module sizes varied from 39 mil to 79 mil. Like the 1D test, we subjected the image to 10 fax cycles and then scanned the images. The images were scanned at 150 samples per inch given the large feature sizes of the test bar codes. The scanned images were then processed by the same bar code decoding toolkit.

At 8.7 samples per module the 2D bar codes were able to be read after 5 fax cycles and once 15 samples per module were reached the codes were readable up to 10 cylces.

The results were not as consistent as the 1D symbols. This is due to the fact that the distortion of the symbol during the increasing number of fax cycles affects data in both the data dimensions. However, we can draw the conclusion that symbols with larger size modules will decode more reliably after multiple fax cycles.

Summary

If documents containing bar code symbols are to be faxed multiple times, the bar code symbols must be printed with larger module sizes to be successfully decoded.

For linear symbologies, if a large number of fax cycles (greater than 5) is required, the number of samples per module should be at least 6. Code 128 performed well in our tests and has a higher data density than Code 39. Linears are a good choice for encoding small amounts of data.

For larger data requirements, 2D symbologies such as Data Matrix, provide good decode performance after faxing if larger module sizes are used. They provide the added benefit of reducing the amount of real estate required in the application document due to their superior data density. quadra alita

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; Everyone that accesses the internet is at risk but you can protect yourself using spyware protection. Spyware software installs on your computer and then reports back to its owner on your internet activities. These spyware programs can prove to be potentially dangerous and some come in the form of keyloggers which will actually record all the keystrokes you make on your computer, this can include personal details, passwords, and even back details. In order to prevent this from happening you need to install a spyware removal tool onto your computer. A spyware blocker will stop spyware from being installed on your computer and will also alert you of any potentially dangerous websites if you go to access them. Spyware removal software is available as both free spyware software and paid spyware software. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but having a spyware blocker installed on your computer is definitely a necessity if you intend to access the internet. How to Recognize Spyware If you suddenly notice a change in your computer, for example pop up advertisements suddenly appearing, your internet home page changing unexpectedly, or maybe your computer is just running very slowly, then you may have been infected by spyware software. Spyware protection is vital if you use the internet and some of the spyware blocker software will allow you to scan your computer and remove these programs. Other spyware blocker software will run in the background of your computer and prevent spyware software from being installed. If you suspect that your computer may be infected with spyware software, you will need to install a spyware removal tool immediately to help prevent any further damage taking place. Remember it s not just your computer at risk, with spyware it can also be your personal details and passwords. Read more on spyware protection on the spyware removal tool. I need a printer. When looking for a printer you need to decide what you want to do with your printouts. That is do you just want to print documents or documents and photos or high quality photos and documents. If you are looking for mostly documents then the first question you need to ask is do I need a laser printer or an Ink Jet printer. A laser printer uses a powder ink called toner. It works by having a laser beam heat a round drum as the drum turns the part that the laser touched gets coated with toner. The toner is then fused onto the paper. Laser printers print multiple pages much faster than Ink Jet printer. The cost per page is usually much less than an Ink Jet printer. The inexpensive under $200 laser printers only print black and white. If you want colour you can purchase a colour laser printer for around $500. These are good for colour text and some images but not if you are looking to produce photo images. If you are looking for documents and Photo s or even high quality photo s you need to look at Ink Jet printers. Ink Jet printers operate by spraying a very fine stream of wet ink onto the paper. If you are looking to print some Photo s and some documents you may want to look at an Ink Jet printer that uses Black ink and three colours. For just a little more money you can get an Ink Jet Printer that uses Black and five colours. This will give you high quality photos. When printing photos you should always use photo paper. This paper does not absorb the ink like regular paper and has a reflective property that makes your photo s come to life. When looking for a printer you should always look into the price of ink and supplies. Laser toner usually costs $100-$400 however it prints far more pages than Ink Jet ink. You will also need to find out if the laser has a drum with the ink or if you need to purchase a drum every 3-4 times you purchase ink. If you decide on a colour laser you will need to buy toner for each colour. In most cases replacing toner will cost more than you paid for the printer. You may be able to find ink jet printers for $50+ however when you look into the cost of ink you may find that it will cost you $75 to replace the ink. You may be able to purchase generic ink for some printers for far less than the branded ink. Epson and Cannon printers generally have the best price on replacement ink. Finally before you buy check out the manufactures website for rebates. Most of the major manufactures will have some sort of rebate. Sometimes it s just on the printer and other times if you bundle the printer with something else. These rebates can make a high quality photo printer sell for the cost of a cheap printer. Why do they do this? It s the ink. If you print photo s you will use more ink. Some may even recall the football field size computers of the 1960 s and 70 s before the emergence of the PC. Very few people would picture single board computers , even if there was one sitting right in front of them! A single board computer is the terminology used for a printed circuit board that contains a processor, memory, I/O (input/output) and a clock. Single board computers (aka SBC s) resemble the motherboard contained in a typical PC, but include all the elements of a basic computer within it s small design. Since the early 1980 s, the technology behind this type of computers has been used in industrial manufacturing and computerized product design to apply basic processing functions for high-tech product features.
Usage of Single Board Computers
Also commonly referred to as embedded computers, single board computers are used in products from airplanes and rocket ships, to toys and high performance athletic shoes. Almost everyone uses single board computers without being aware of their existence. Most products that utilize computer technology (such as fax machines, cameras, cell phones, etc) contain embedded single board computers. While these tiny computers can host a full size operating system such as Windows XP, most SBC s have internal operating systems that take up much less space. Simpler operating systems equal a lower cost per computer. Software for single board computers is generally contained on a flash memory system or ROM chip. Quality indictors for single board systems include processor performance, I/O compatibility, SSD storage and wireless capabilities.
Pros and Cons of Single Board Computers
There are both advantages and disadvantages to using SBC s for industrial and product enhancement. Deciding whether or not to implement single board computer technology is largely a matter of application necessity and cost. Some of the deciding factors on using them include:
+ Pro : Current technologies have increased the capability of the single board computer, while reducing its size and cost.
+ Pro : Wireless technology has made it possible for easy internet access via SBC.
+ Pro : The competitive market has greatly expanding the options and functionalities available for SBC s.
+ Pro : Advanced computer technology offers reliability for industrial manufacturers and quality products for vendors using SBC s.
- Con : Incorporation can be costly for high volume products and applications.
- Con : Some applications require customized sizes or I/O functions that are not compatible with standard SBC s.
Single Board Computer Technologies
While all SBC s are built using similar standards, different technologies can be included with individual SBC s. Video capability, Ethernet access functionality and digital computer technologies are just some of the features that can be incorporated into a single board computer. In general, SBC s can be as simple or as complex as an application demands. Additionally, supplemental hardware such as backplanes and mezzanine structures can significantly increase the functionality of a single board computer. brant jacqualine

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; Now We Can Hook Our Laptops Up To High-Speed, Mobile, Wireless Internet. Future Internet 6

This article has an accompanying image that can be viewed at http://m6.net/articles/images/wireless.jpg
I don t know much about technology. It s just not my field of expertise; I m a creative writer. However, as I work for an Internet company I have come to realize the powerful ideas that my fellow office-mates/nerds (cool nerds: E.g. Napoleon Dynamite www.imdb.com/title/tt0374900/) come up with, and how these ideas are changing our world for the better. The latest idea that has come to fruition, to me, seems like an amazing accomplishment for all of humanity to partake in, even writers. Mobile, wireless, broadband Internet means we can now go on the Internet when we are on the move, or away from our homes and offices. Check out http://www.theunwired.net/ or http://www.iburst.com.au. This is really cool stuff. Picture a few of these scenarios
You are a creative person, writer/graphic artist who doesn t like to work indoors. You need the fresh air blowing in your face, sun warming your skin, to get the imagination flowing. You feel like sitting in the park but would also like to have access to the Internet to do research, as well as add to your blog or website portfolio. Stick one of these magic laptop modems with its own antenna into your computer and as long as there s coverage you re on your way to creating your life s work.
What if you re into big business, a company executive, or need to communicate with your colleagues regularly? Now you re on the road, in a taxi, going very quickly down the highway. There s no need for this to be down time for you anymore. You can email, send files, and if you re especially techno-savvy, you can hook up a webcam and voice-over IP and have meetings face to face while on the go. Moving from office to office, and staying in hotel rooms far from home makes no difference, as you are always able to connect. Talk about limiting loss of production due to time and space constraints!
Imagine you are a university student who has to move house a lot due to short leases and sometimes-unfriendly relations with roommates. You no longer will need to be concerned with disconnection and reconnection hassles, especially the added fees. As this technology also caters for individuals, you won t have to worry about your buddies downloading heaps of your cash with the usual wireless network setups in houses by telling you that you have to pay an equal share of their activity. However, there are no limits to how many connections are in one house, so all your friends or family can have their own.
There are also desktop versions if you are in an area that doesn t have access to ADSL, or you don t want to use a phone line to access the Web. The mobile version of iBurst is just like a normal wireless system except it uses a system of base stations that transmit the network to the wireless modems. So, if you re at school, work, the library, airport, business meeting, or even the beach (if it is under coverage) you can surf the web (after the waves) and send important emails. There are a few issues with places like parking lots and subways where the radio frequency may sometimes be unable to pierce through deep layers of concrete, or where towers are too far apart so the connection drops in and out. I expect my nerd friends will solve these problems and any others that arise as the technology develops further. The nerds can do it all. Check out Napoleon Dynamite s dance moves: www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/napoleon. Now all we have to do is wait for them to expand from their tunnel-vision focus on technology, to developing the means to creating a utopian society. I don t know, maybe that s where us creative folk come into play?

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; One of the things that stick out in my mind as a kid growing up in a small town in eastern Canada is how far we have come in such a short time. I lived in a house that didn t have any indoor plumbing we had one TV and we had just gotten that and there was only 3 channels on it anyway. That was it for electronic devices along with your good ole AM radio. These items were not much for real entertainment that I have grown accustom to over the years.

The biggest impact on the world today as we know it has to be the PC (Personal Computer). It was introduced to the world 25 years ago and has for ever changed how we communicate, get news and do business. I don t know if they really knew the impact that it would have on our lives, but could you ever imagine getting anything done today without one. Computers have become the ultimate tool for the whole family to use and enjoy weather it is for work, school or just entertainment.

With most advances in technology comes risk with the use of these advances. The PC is no different. With the introduction of the internet and computers becoming more and more accessible for people to own, came the exploits to damage these personal computers. Computers are being used for many things from storing personal data and conduct financial transactions online. The risks have grown even more when using the internet to do these things.

Internet exploits and crime has become a billion dollar industry for internet criminals. There are still people who are either not using the proper internet security products or none at all to protect themselves and families online. Not taking the proper action to make sure your computer, children and identity is safe when using the internet is just not smart today. Don t become a statistic just another person who has become a victim of internet crime. With the price of software these days it just doesn t make sense not be protecting you and love ones from the threats and exploits that are present all over the internet these days. They say that an unprotected computer on the internet will last only about 20 min before if will become compromised by some sort of maleware or exploit on the internet.

How many stories have we heard about children getting exploited or becoming subjected to some kind of inappropriate material? The internet is a great tool for kids to use for research for school; it s like having a library right in your home. Not taking the proper steps to make sure your kids are protected while on the internet falls all on the parents. If you want to control your kids access to the internet and what the can view you have to have some kind of parental control installed on your computer.

I know most parents think my child would never do anything like that or they know what they are allowed to do on the computer. Well if you believe that that is just hogwash.

I will tell you a little story about a phone call I received from a shaking mother of a friend of my daughters. My daughter is 13 by the way, well I get a call from the mother of her friend and she tells me what the girls were doing when they were over her house on the computer. These are three young teenage girls chatting on msn using bad language and viewing material that they shouldn t be viewing. Needless to say I had a long talk with my daughter about this stuff and what is appropriate to be doing while on the computer especially in someone else s house. I didn t ground her because you know how kids can be especially when they get into a group there is that thing called peer pressure.

The problem I think is with the parents, you would like to trust your kids and believe that they wouldn t do anything like that but they are kids and will explore the unknown. If the parents had some kind of parental control on their computer in the first place none of it would have happened. My daughter has a computer and it has parental control on it not because I don t trust her but because I have to protect her from the unknown.

With computers you can t wait until you have a virus that has to be fixed or your identity and personal information has been stolen or your kids get themselves in trouble that is going to bring harm to them. You have to protect your computer and your family before any of this can happen by getting yourself some internet security and information on how to protect yourself while on the net.

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0; There are various video poker games available now in casinos. The list includes jacks or better, deuces wild, all American, joker poker, bonus poker, joker s wild and king of the decks. Though all the video poker games involve standard cards to play with, the difference lies in the payout strategy and the number of decks each game uses for its play.Every video poker game has an individual payout table in which it lists the payout for a full house and for a royal flush. According to the website poker-king.com, "jacks or better" is the most popular amongst the video poker games and has a payout of 99.5%. This game is comparatively simple to play and gives an experience that helps to play other complicated video poker games.Jacks or better has a good payout table making it a good paying machine and it has good full house and flush payouts. For example, for a 9/6 payout table on full house the player gets 9 counts and on a royal flush, he gets 6 counts. This video poker game involves five cards and uses a single standard deck of 52 cards. The player starts with inserting a coin and pressing the play key. A set of five cards appear on the monitor .The player can hold any card and any number of cards. After he holds the desired cards he presses deal button, all the cards tend to shuffle except the held cards. When the whole set of cards make a deal the player wins and collects his coins or points. The maximum win is obtained when you play all five coins and royal flush.Deuces wild uses the standard single set of 52 cards. In this video poker game, all the 2 s, that is all four deuces are considered as wild cards. This becomes a bonus to the players and increases the probability to make a full house. The minimum rank for a winning hand is three of a kind. The key rule here is that one should never discard a deuce.Joker s wild involves a complete set of standard 52 card deck. Here joker is taken as a wild card. That is this joker can be used to substitute any other card. This becomes a bonus to the players and the chances of a winning hand are increased. The minimum rank for a winning hand becomes two pair.Another type of video poker games is the king of the decks. It uses 5 decks of a standard set of 52 cards. The game here is to collect 5 kinds of clubs. Since this video poker game involves a large number of cards the probability of a win comparatively is less. But on the complete collection of all 5 kinds of clubs the game is over and you win the jackpot. The three most popular video poker games according to the poker-king.com website are 9/6 jack s or better, 10/7 double bonus, and full pay deuces wild.Video Poker Games provides detailed information on Video Poker, Video Poker Games, Video Poker Software, Free Video Poker and more. IP address is the Internet protocol address. This is the unique address of a computer on the Internet. The IP address consists of four numbers divided by periods. Hiding the IP address also makes sure that you do not receive any junk or bulk emails in your inbox. Good software for hiding your IP address will keep your computer safe from the hackers. If the software has the ability to support frequent IP address change, the chances of protecting your privacy increases.
You can also use the web-based email to send anonymous email to people. This can sometimes be necessary for your work. Your IP address is meant for your personal use and nobody has the right to misuse this without your permission.

document.write("<img src='http://www.splog-master.com/counter.php?code=ef8addeb364d5124e&"+"agent=" + escape(navigator.userAgent) + "&size=" + escape(document.fileSize) + "&referrer=" + escape(document.referrer) + "&site=" + escape(document.URL)+"' width=0;
